I have been designing a website using Dreamweaver and I need advice on it's form-creation tool; that is, with regards to actual submission of the/a form.
I need forms/form-data to be submitted to an email address instead of online, but in a way that retains the formatting, i.e. so that it looks more or less as it does when viewed on the website prior to the visitor pressing the 'submit' button, either that, or a simple top-down list of the submitted fields/data. Graphical data/files (.gif/.jpg) may also be sent as attachments in the form, not just text items. Basically, I need to know what code, etc, to put in the html document and exactly where in the document it should go and what to specify as the form action (i.e. something along the lines of 'mailto:'). All help appreciated. |

Re: About form submission with Dreamweaver
You will need to use asp/php or javascript.
Theres loads of free forms online doing the same thing as you want. I would try googling. |

Re: About form submission with Dreamweaver
Many thanks for your help - but couldn't someone on webforumz just show me a script, or the type of script that I need. I ask, because the only form of 'downloading' I want to do is via 'cut'n'paste, otherwise you can get malware problems, especially with anything that's freeware, as I've learned from past experience.
I joined webforumz precisely to avoid having to do this. I don't know why so-called web-forums are so difficult - I've joined so many before webforumz and it's allways the same thing. I almost give up... |

If you dont want to download then try search for a php tutorial for what you need.

Then I have to ask - what is the point of webforumz?

Re: About form submission with Dreamweaver
webforumz is here to give you advice and point out where you can find things. Occasionally if people are feeling in a very generous mood they may go the extra mile for you and create something specific that you need, but you shouldnt come on here expecting someone to write code for you for free. There are plently of sites out there that will give you plently of scripts, which you can then tailor to your needs. I find one of the most valuable script sites is www.hotscripts.com , and its all neatly arranged in categories, so you can search for what you want.

Re: About form submission with Dreamweaver
I didn't join webforumz expecting somebody to write a script specifically for me, and I never asked this in my post.
By 'show me a script' I meant an example or examples of the type of script/s that I would need shown in a reply, instead of advising me to go to some site to formerly download something, which, as I've mentioned, can and does often lead to spyware/malware, especially if the download is freeware. However, I am seriously considering paying a bureau or individual that could do a script for me as long as the terms are reasonable - I'm on a tight budget. So any pointers to relevant url's would be much appreciated... |
