Help with website needed!

This website seems the best place to ask for help so here it is.
I have my site at alexgeek.co.uk
but on some pages with little content e.g. http://www.alexgeek.co.uk/HTML/Photography.htm

there's the main background for the page which is the blue to transparent gradient one.
Then there's a footer background in a table that is supposed to be at the bottom of every page.
How do I get it at the bottom of every page?
Or any other advice, on this matter or any of the site is wanted.

Oh and forgot to say.
Most of the site looks awful in ie.
and okay in firefox last time i checked.

Ryan's sticky footer is the best so far.

Loose DW, ditch the tables and start using a STRICT doctype

and is thers some sort of tutorial for a layout that remains the same on each page with content changing in the middle part if you get me?
