omg keep me away from tables !!! HELP!!!

ok so on my portfolio page i want to have a thumb nail on the left side of my page then a short desription of the site on the right. BUT! im kinda new to css and i dno how to do this with css so please can some one help me to keep away from tables if u dont understand what i mean iv made a lil diagram in paint lmao

I've been going mad with lists recently and I think you could use a list for this.

So the HTML would go:

<li><img src="img1.jpg">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Donec mattis, nulla ut auctor convallis, est urna tempor purus, eu congue dui augue vitae risus. Nunc faucibus placerat pede. Sed eu.</li>
<li><img src="img1.jpg">Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Donec mattis, nulla ut auctor convallis, est urna tempor purus, eu congue dui augue vitae risus. Nunc faucibus placerat pede. Sed eu.</li>

CSS:

ul {
    list-style: none;
}

ul li {
clear: left
}

ul li img {
float: left;
width: 100px;
height:100px;
}

This would give you the right results. You just need to add text formating and some margins/paddings and make it pretty.

Ha. I'm doing the rounds today. If it's a list, I can CSS it. I might narrow down my business. "Now only coding unordered lists". Something tells me it wouldn't work out.
