Firstly I wasnt sure which thread this really sat in because it can probably imvolve almost all coding forums, so I have placed it here, however if it needs to be moved then just let me know.

Okay I want to start an online community/portal, and I understand there are some pre-written scripts that you can download and install on your website that will automatically produce a portal where users can signin and have access to photo gallery, forums etc, but I just wondered if anybody here had any preference as to which script i should use, because I dont know which ones are good and which ones are not.

So any opinions with explanation would be much appreciated.

It also depends if your wanting an asp or php cms, depending on what your host can handle.
