Automated content publishing
Hi there,
I run a few websites that have news items now and again. I'm after some software or a script that i can set a time to and the content be automatically published to the internet. I'm aware of expensive news publishing software but i'm sure there must be an easier way to automatically alter html at a set date and time. Any ideas? Cheers |

Re: Automated content publishing
You would need a Server side language such as PHP or ASP

Re: Automated content publishing
why dont you just insert the news items in a database and store a date and time when the article is considered live and maybe even a date when it expires

Re: Automated content publishing
Rob,
Cheers for this. I've never done dynamic pages before but it sounds like the right way to go about it. My server uses php. Do you (or anyone) know of a site that might have a tutorial on this? Cheers |

Re: Automated content publishing
I dont know a specific tutorial for this, but try www.tutorialized.com they may have some form of this but it could be done quite simply.
Just have each news with a postdate (date it was made) and a release date then echo only news which date is over todays date. |

Re: Automated content publishing
Hi,
Thanks for this. I'll look into it. If its too complex i might just buy some news publishing script. Thanks |
