an IE issue

Sorry for the topic's title (not very precissive), but I don't know how to call that issue (English is not my native language).

I'm working on a site and I created a horizontal menu using unordered list. It looks well as long as you don't see it in IE - it's padded 39px to the right, and it shouldn't. I can't figure out why.
See it yourself: http://blind.cba.pl/new/

Thanks in advance for Your help

Re: an IE issue

If you browse the site with FF2 you'll see that the lenght of "content" div breaks the "main" div. Fix this and maybe also IE problem will go away. If not, clear the floats after the "panelMenu" div.

Re: an IE issue

hmm... I have some old version of FF, didn't upgrade because I don't use it. I'll download the latest version and check the problem out.

thanks.

Re: an IE issue

erm... zonk
when I changed the doctype encoding it... started to display correctly... I don't know if that was the reason or not (but I suppose IE's just bit crappy browser )
anyway, thanks Gwayn for his answer - I started to clean up the code and finally the layout looks as I want it to look
