does anyone know if it is possible to do neon text with pure css
i have managed to do this http://www.webforumz.com/html-forum/...ur-own-web.htm and i am now looking to make it neon, so its more noticeable

You could use an image replacement technique to swap the text out for an image of neon text.

i was hoping to use just css, because of the way i have done it, it might be a bit dificult to put an image in there, but thanks

No you can't just use CSS. You'll need to use an image.

CSS3 has a "text-shadow" property that will solve your problem. Until then -- well actually, you might be able to do it using different font-sizes and colors, transparent backgrounds, and z-index. It would be fun to try, but it's not very practical.
Well, now there's a challenge. Lemme' try. tick tock tick tock http://www.muggajo.com/neon.html Formatted for Firefox, it's a bit off in IE. I know some of you peeps can do a lot better. Last edited by masonbarge; Apr 11th, 2007 at 23:49.
