Setting up a forum

Whats the easiest way of setting up a forum? I have administrated a MSSQL forum but I want to set it up using MYSQL and possibly ASP.NET to keep the price down. Has anyone used a good template and is it easy for a non programmer? I have looked at: www.phpbb.com/ but I know nothing about it. Help Yes Please

phpbb is very good, your actually looking at it now. However, this is a php forum and you said you wanted to use a windows server?

possibly ASP.NET
in which case phpbb would be out of the question, as its a shame as i think itsthe best free forum out there. for a windows server, there is snitz, which i used but dont really like....its just about the same to set up.

and as for the question of setting up. you just upload all the files to your webserver and hit the page and it will go throught the steps to install it for you. its relitivly easy.

But in my experiance windows servers have allways been more expensive....

hope that helps

:P Thanks for the advice. I dont have to use windows. Its only because part of the site uses asp.net which is on a windows server. If I used a linux server instead I could then use phpbp. I already have MYSQL on a Linux server so lets give it a go. Any more good advice for using phbpp like how long it takes to set up? TA
