complete newbie

Hello everybody I am totaly new to web design and have'nt a clue where to start and I need your help if you can be botherd and have the time the teach me the basics??

So this is what I want to do

Design a simple web site to show pictures it does not have to be that good just simple and easy to use with my company name at the top and contact detail and stuff I'm sure this sounds easy but I have no idea where to start

If all you want to do is show pictures there's a number of free gallery sites out there, or gallery scripts you can install on your site.

Otherwise you can use a program like Dreamweaver to lay your site out, or head over to http://www.w3schools.com for a good tutorial on basic HTML.

I mostly depends on how much time you want to devote to it, and what kind of results you'd like.

the way i learnt was downloading other sites and opening them in frontpage to see how they were made. that was when i had a lot of time to waste. and its a bit hard now with more and more sites being made with CSS
