Thumbnails won't display

I have been trying to set up a web page to display my design artwork (portfolio). I have tried several different thumbnail generator utilities available on the web with the same results. All of them pretty much work in a simular fashion. My problem is this:

When I open up my index page where my thumbnails of all of my artwork images are, they are there in the table like they are supposed to be but they are not displayed. Instead the alt discriptions are displayed along with the dreaded little white box with the red x in it.

What am I missing here? In am running windows XP on one computer and WIndows ME on the other one. Neither one will display the thumbs. The links to the full size images work fine.

You have specified the location to your thumbnails as ../photos/thumb1.jpg
Unfortunately this address is impossible to reach as the page linking to those images is already at the root of the website.

../ moves up a directory and we cannot do that. However it appears that the images are not in /photos/thumb1.jpg either... so you need to check the address and ensure you're linking to the right place.

If I get your drift, your are not seeing the thumbs on your computer. If this the case, on your tool bar on the top, click views then thumbnails in the pull down menu.

Bobby, I think you've missed the point. The thumbnails have been produced but are not visible when the page is viewed on the internet!
