Do I need to know HTML before CSS

???

Should I learn basic html beforehand or does it not matter...

I would say it does matter.

HTML is a basic markup language which enables you to tell a browser where to put items on a screen.

CSS can do this too, but it's built into HTML like an add-on and as far as I'm aware you can't do CSS without simple HTML elements as it is pretty much a part of HTML itself.

Well also , why not learn everything? HTML probably wont take you 2 days to learn it all, and there are so many different places to learn it. Also, you need to learn basic Forms and stuff to. So I would say yes.

Yep, learn HTML first then jump into CSS.
