Help choosing a web project

well, it doesn't have to be valid to run the server... pro/server editions just have the appropriate software installed/enabled in the OS. Apache is also completely free... it'll just take a little more setting up, and it's not so hot at running .net.

So basically, I see your best choices as:
Apache -> PHP -> MySQL database
IIS -> ASP.net -> MSSQL database

up to you!

*Download, first SQL Server 2005 Express, and then Visual Studio Express*

Okay so the Sql server will be like a database manager and visual studio express is a package which contains the software with which I can code asp.net? Am I right? Or is that something a monkey would say?

(yea I do intend to make it a fully functional website, I will use google's adsence and stuff to hopefully cover up the costs of the server/domain charges )
