Re: Help!! Gmail login box

Hello Dan, I googled this and found that gmail encrypts the username and password and it's all very confusing.
Have a look at this:

Re: Help!! Gmail login box

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your comment.

I've visited the link u sent. But unfortunately, they didn't answer my question.

Check out this url : http://www.startlap.hu/

This is not in English, but don’t worry. You'll see an email login box on the left. (well 3 email login boxes) I want exactly the same!

Do you think I should just copy the codes from there? J

Thanks,

Dan

Re: Help!! Gmail login box

No. Do not copy another sites code. They might have a database or something and the boxes would not work on your site.

I must admit I don't think you can put gmail login boxes on your site due to the security risks.

Re: Help!! Gmail login box

To be honest this seems very unnecessary, do you really need this?

Re: Help!! Gmail login box

I would be very suspect if I saw this type of login box on any other site rather than the gmail logon page. My first instinct is that you will be sending my details in clear text, and then I wonder where the details will actually be going and where they will be stored.

Sorry, just think it is a bad idea.

Re: Help!! Gmail login box

If it's unsecure, then google would removed it. I guess.

Can you make that box secure? -the box only

I'm sure it's here somewhere: http://code.google.com/
I just can't find it. ...maybe with your help i will

Re: Help!! Gmail login box

I don't think it's about making the box secure, I think its more around the perception of the box being there in the first place. You can have all the bells and whistles of security, but in todays age, where we have constant news stories of phishing and identity fraud, people just wouldn't use it.

Re: Help!! Gmail login box

Well, check out the popularity of that website, and you'll see that it's got a good ranking.

I understand your concerns about security though.
