Ok I have been scowering how to get my site up and running while I learn HTML and CSS without spending $300 or using some cheezy cut and paste thing.
I tried the template route but you have to have HTML and CSS knoledge to use them and they don't provide CSS sheets unless you pay 50-100 bucks which seems silly since I will be dumping it once I learn HTML and CSS. I have been trying to find a solution to my problem but I am getting to a point where I am wanting to throw my computer out the window and scratch the idea. (no pacients is not my virtue) I an at a loss for where to go now..... I don't want to wait months before I can put my site up while I learn webdesign. (End rant) |

Re: I am about to give up
Well, right now you might feel like this:throw:
But if you stick with learning html and css and do your own site from scratch, then you will feel like this :kicking: Unfortunately there's no easy answer, you either take the time to learn how to hand code and do it properly yourself, or you use a WYSIWIG something which won't be anywhere near as good, or you get someone else to do it for you! But don't stress, it'll all be alright in the end, trust me |

Re: I am about to give up
I don't know mybe I got off to a bad start from the beginning with godaddy not setting up my account the right way and tying to convice me I need $50 of hosting when it was already included. Then you can build pages on godaddy or create your own but you can't do BOTH.
I didn't expect things to be easy but I didn't expect so many obsticals. |

Re: I am about to give up
I know it can seem like a lot of obstacles, and it can be frustrating, but just do one bit at a time, and if you get stuck on something, then as Marc says, post a specific question within the relevant forum area here, and little by little you'll get there. Really you will.

Re: I am about to give up
PunkManager, you are at a critical time where webmasters and affiliate marketers either FAIL or SUCCEED. Working through and sticking with it, when you are most frustrated, is key. Everyone goes through what you are going through right now at some point.
My suggestion, install wordpress and a simple theme on your site and start blogging. This will get you links, it will get you traffic, and when you finally have your site ready after learning enough, launch it and take down the blog. Learning HTML with DreamWeaver might be a way to go too. That way you can use design mode then look at the html to see how it all works. Learn by doing. |

Re: I am about to give up
I basicly learnt everything from w3schools. They provide examples that you can play around around with or copy.
