Text Highlight Colour

Is it possible to change the background colour when some highlights text. In the image attached, the highlight colour is blue. However, I would like to use my own colour. Any ideas on how I can change it?

I just spent like 20 minutes and found nothing on the web about this.
Cos I would like this aswell.
blue's kinda ugly now.
Unless this is something operating system related rather than style related?

unless if you change the text colour when it's (

active to give you the opposite colour
if that made sense

Okay, so it can't be done? Is it possible to do it with Javascript, or is Flash my only option?

I think you'd probably be able to do this with JS but why would you want to. Messing with standard browser features is bad for usability.

I don't think its worth going to all the trouble to be honest - the only person that will notice will be you. Anyone who highlights the text is either not going to notice - or is going to be confused because its not highlighting like ti normally does.
