Question A couple of basic question- please.

Let's suppose I have a few pages I want to upload to my host, how do I do that. I will use notepad++, or notepad for design.

If I want to edit or delete the uploaded pages, how do I do that?

I know this is mundane for most of you, but this is all Greek to me.

Thanks for your help.
Darryl

Re: A couple of basic question- please.

If you were from greece it wouldn't be a problem then!

You need an FTP program such as Cute FTP or Smart FTP

basically you then connect to your host (you need a host) and you can drag and drop the files onto or off of the online server.

Thanks,
I did download SmartFTP. Looks like another thing to learn.
This learning adventure is getting complicated!

Re: A couple of basic question- please.

Can pages be edited while on the host server, or would I need to download them back to Notepad?

Well you don't strictly download them back, because what's uploaded is only a copy, you'll still have the files that you created, so you update them and then upload the new versions which will replace the ones currently uploaded.

Dhall, maybe this will help you feel better about your learning curve...The only dumb questions are those that don't get asked.

We were all in the same place you are at one time and we have have all had to ask the same questions. As you learn more things will get easier and easier. And someday you will be answering a new designer who asked the same questions. Good luck we are here to help.
