Re: just a little more help please
Yes. Well...depending on your hosting company's rules. But that would be just stupid of them not to allow you to edit your site once it's online. Just upload the new file over your old file.
No. You can always write the code. Putting it online only means that other people in the world can see it. |

Re: just a little more help please
Okay just going to expand a bit on what Bennett said. Yes you can edit your website after it is online...all you need is a good FTP program like SmartFTP. You can also build you members login and downloads page without having a host. You need to download a web server that will allow you to use databases and PHP pages. I would recommend Xampp. Any Questions?

Re: just a little more help please
hi jacob - thank you again, but i've somehow just managed to add my first down load to my site and am feeling very pleased with myself and a little excited.
i've still got to figure how to do a members section for my site so if you can offer advice or help with that again i would really apreciate that. thankyou again |

Re: just a little more help please
Now you're getting a little more complicated. A members section requires a knowledge of php and internet databases.

Re: just a little more help please
Not really but you still need to understand the language. Have a look at Joe2torials' PHP section ... there's a few good scripts in there as well as an Admin section one

I kinda like the Joe2tutorial site. It is nice, like his code very simple...I like it.
