Seach Engines And Page Rank

Hello,

Just got a few questions on search engine related, simple ones I think, I have never really took notice of search engine traffic or results so firstly I am just woundering how important search engine hits are to a web site.

Dont get me wrong here I use robot.txt and keywords meta tags etc etc just woundering how much efffort I should put in to them.

2nd I have recently found out scenesters.co.uk has a google google page rank of 2 is this good and where can I find out more info on page ranking. I had a quick look around the net and it seems there is different types of page ranking.

The more effort you put in, the greater the result. So if ranking high is one of your only goals, put quite a lot off effort in.
Although you should focus more on content and your keywords. The more content, the that can get indexed.

Very important i should say. The higher search engine hits you could get the better since your actual PR will increase. This means the probability that tour site will reach Page 1 of search engine sites when your targeted keywords are searched.

PR range from 1-10. 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. You are talking of the displayed PR by Google. So 2 is not good yet.

For PageRank info, you may want to read this --> PAGE RANK

Re: Seach Engines And Page Rank

Its just a music EZine website, echoing reviews, galleries, artist bios, interviews etc etc you get the picture. Just your general entertainment site.

It is currently under construction right now, and basically for the relaunch in November just getting up to scratch on the must important things I should really be consintrating on.
