hi all
I have recently launched my new site with the url looking like this /index.php?page=3&title=Website+design could some one point me in the right direction on how i can change these to more friendly urls please.

Rather than trying to explain it rather poorly, Bill Humphries wrote an excellent article on the exact matter. Make sure to read through it carefully though and it should definitely help you out!
