Number of Keywords?

I'm curious about how many keywords an average website would deal with.

And do they tend to change over time?

I read in a seo ebooks that, 7% keyword density is ok. That means you can put 7 of them in a 100 word article.

Answering your own question huh? That's new.... anyway,

7% - 12% sounds good. Anything above that and the alarm bells will go off.
But don't forget it's not just about density, it's about prominence.
