Links
Hi,
Might be a stupid question but how do you go about getting links on your site to big companies like google, nike etc. do you need to contact them to ask for permisson or can you put them on the site without. I want to add their logo and put a link on it to their site.

Re: Links
covdesign, do you just mean like
- HTML: Select all
<a href="http://www.nike.com">Nike</a>
Just a hyperlink to their site, or is there something else you mean?

Yeah that would be no. You need to get permission to use copyrighted material. Nike owns their logo and they choose where it can be placed so they can protect their business image.

Re: Links
I dont think any company is going to complain when their logo, and recognisable brand is linked back to them from someones site. I wouldn't even bother asking permisssion personally, but feel free if it makes you feel better about it.

Re: Links
I hardly think large companies will pay highly qualified support staff to say "Yes, link to us if you like". LOL
It's the internet. You can make links to anything you like.

Just paste their link on your site. You are simply promoting their website and I dont feel they will have any issues with it.

Re: Links
I always get their permission before I do anything. I feel better when I'm doing that...

Are you telling me that before you linked to a Google SERP you emailed them (which by the way, is not that easy to do) and received explicit confirmation that they allowed you to create the link on your website?
