<title>Tennis London : Tennis History</title> how should it read

Hi

Ok, you have a Tennis club in London for example, and the name of your club does not have the word London in it. How would you have your title read?

<title>Name of your tennis club :Tennis London</title>

<title>Tennis London : Name of your tennis club</title>

<title>Name of your tennis club :London Tennis clases</title>

<title>Tennis London</title>

<title>Name of your tennis club</title>

And what about for your other pages, like History page for example?

<title>Tennis London : Tennis History</title>

Cheers!

Re: <title>Tennis London : Tennis History</title> how should it read

I would probably do something like this:
The Gold Star Tennis Club, London

For the history page I'd probably do:
History of Tennis and The Gold Star Tennis Club.

Linda's nailed this one. Try to include your keywords without writing annoying titles.

So it is a balance between using your key words and not putting people off with repetitive/ annoying titles.

London Tennis | Tennis London and History
This seems to be a common option that results in 10 Tennis clubs having the same title, and that doesn't look good.

HTML: Select all
<title>Name of your tennis club :London Tennis clases</title>

<title>Tennis London or Name of your club</title>
Is the a preference between two descriptions or just the one?

Re: <title>Tennis London : Tennis History</title> how should it read

You know my opinion on this.. I always balance my text evenly between people and search engines.

The sticky that is posted in this forums says this:
Quote:
Use a good TITLE
The title of your pages should be descriptive and explain the contents of the page well. Using the default title of Home, Index, Default is a pointless exercise. The title will give a visitor an idea of the what the page is about and also gives a search engine spider an idea of how to classify the page.
This is easily the most important single element on the page.
Reading that, it is quite vague but it does say the title should be descriptive and explain the contents of the page well.

My interpretation is to use the business name as well as the location, and obviously the word tennis.

Maybe Diego will respond soon and share his views.

Personally I do not believe this is descriptive enough

Perhaps mine is not descriptive enough either.
Maybe you should do:
Tennis club name, Tennis Club located in London offers Tennis lessons, tennis tournaments, tennis for all ages. I believe the title should be around 10 words. +/-

If the business name is Gold Star Tennis Club than obviously do not write
Gold Star Tennis Club, Tennis club...etc... But if the business name doesn't have the words Tennis club in it then use that keyword phrase as well.

Ok.. I'm tired and rambling..
