[SOLVED] Uh Oh - Google picked up my site mid-developmen
Okay. I admit I'm panicking. But I have literally just finished a site and having Googled some specific terms, it seems Google's already been and gone!
I'd had one or two pages on the server and had forgot to take them down. If I check out the Google's cache of the pages, it's ridden with PHP errors because at the time, the include files were not uploaded. PLUS, I'd submitted my site URL literally two minutes before finding this. So basically I've submitted a URL to Google when they already knew about it and it was already in their index. Am I in trouble?

Re: Uh Oh - Google picked up my site mid-developmen
Google will index your site again so it's not the end of the world. The "construction" cache will be overwritten next time that google visits.
As for submitting your site when google already has it? I can't see how this could damage too much as I'm sure this would happen quite often. Some people say that google penalises manual submissions but I haven never noticed this on any of my sites -- when compared to not submitting and being found. You'll just have to wait it out until google comes back again.

Re: Uh Oh - Google picked up my site mid-developmen
Cheers guys, I'm a natural worrier and I've spent a quite a bit of time on optimization, so the red light was on
I'll let you know if things all go smoothly @Rakuli - I also doubt very much about manual submissions being penalised, particularly since Google offer it in the first place. I was slightly concerned though, as I know Google 'doesn't like' the same URL being thrown at it on a regular basis, so thought this might also apply to URL's already in its index...

Re: [SOLVED] Uh Oh - Google picked up my site mid-developmen
Google actually recommends you to manually submit your site to them, however; they have a prefered method to do so. You need to create a developers account with Google (your gmail works fine) and then you can add domain names to this account. Google has tons of SEO tools to help you out as well.
