Basically black hat seo is using bad techniques to gain ranks such as paying to be listed in directories etc. whereas white hat is just optimizing what you have and gaining links naturally.

"Black hat" is naughty SEO -- the dark side of the force.

Black hat: you try to trick search engines into believing your site is more popular than it really is; or you try to deceive them about your content (say, by placing white keywords on a white background, so only search engines will see them and not people).

Black hat SEO is normally a bad idea, because it relies on your being smarter than Google. But Google is very, very smart.

White hat SEO is what you should be doing. Write good content, using descriptive keywords to help search engines work out how best to index your content, especially in important elements such as the <title> and <h1>; submit articles to popular sites in your subject (gaining a link back to your site); and generally promote your website.

You don't need to use black seo!
White SEO It's easier, more secure and more documented on articles on the internet.
Don't limit your marketing to the simple use of SEO. Also use SEM!
