A company is ranked position 8 in yahoo.
Is there anything specific to yahoo that I can do to make the site jump up a few places. |

Re: rankings in yahoo
Same techniques used to rank higher in google will help in Yahoo.
Descriptive Title Keywords Meta Description h1, h2, h3 (you are lacking those or out of order) Text that is well written emphasizing the three top keyword phrases you are trying to rank well with. Backlinks -Quality, relevant links Content, content content. Different content that is rich and interesting on each page. Reduce javascript (if applicable), reduce flash (if applicable) Descriptive urls Hope that helps! |

Re: rankings in yahoo
Thanks for the reply
Its just that a particular site ranks well within Google but slightly less well (but still well) within Yahoo. Was wondering where we might be going wrong with yahoo. |

Re: rankings in yahoo
Yahoo is famous for having irrelevant sites listed. Check and see what is above you in Yahoo... there might actually be sites that aren't as relevant as your site for that particular search.
I don't have the actual answer. |

Re: rankings in yahoo
Using the keywords or phrases that you'd like your site to comeup in, check to see what sites currently come up. Then, examine their meta tags incorporate some of theirs into yours. This seems to work well for yahoo, but not Google.
Also make sure your footerhas relevent keyword terms. Hope that helps, Mark |
