Page appear and disappear in Google?

Hello I'm Dan I introduced myself in the introduce yourself page. I've got a problem with Google UK mainly.

My site has been live since October 07 and the other day I thought it had come out of the sand box. And it jumped to number 61 for the keyword
"phone sex" and was also in a good position for "uk phone sex" which are quite competitive phrases.

But I took a few spammy looking links I had off of the site and it just went out of the results. But it dropped out of the results before google cached any of the pages with the links that I removed. So i don't think it was because of the modifications.

Is it normal for sites to fluctuate so much. It's not even in the top 1000 now.
It is still indexed though..

love to help, but can't look at these types of sites at work.

i know that google were doing a data dump back in august, but this should only affect the number of pages indexed, not your position in the results.

will come back later when i've refeshed my memory

Thanks for trying, I was just going to say that it showed up for about a week at the start of august at 61 in google and then disappeared and hasn't come back since
