Re: Page Rank 3
I maybe wrong Blake and I would never try to speak for Spinal but I believe article/content submission is about writing articles and submitting them in article depositories like ezine.com People pick them up and use them on their website for content. Now a one way link for you since you put your author info at the bottom including a link to your site.
Content probably tutorials, submit things to blogs, all that have a link back to you. |

Re: Page Rank 3
Oh right. Cool!
But what about link exchanges being worthless? What's the point in exchanging the links then? |

Re: Page Rank 3
Blake spinal did say IMO (In my opinion) - that is his personal opinion - some other people think differently

He also said in most cases. So there are exceptions, that said he does have some knowledge of this area.

Re: Page Rank 3
Keep in mind most link exchanges are betweeen small sites which are worthless as the sites have poor PR anyway. If you link with a massive site, such as webforumz, it will have a more positive effect as WF PR is about 4/5..

Re: Page Rank 3
I don't honestly know..Spinal would be the one to advise us. There are articles that think reciprocal linking is valuable then there are articles that say it is not.
There are sites such as the one that was just posted in the link building section tonight. It claims to have a PR 5 which it does on the homepage. When you find your particular section in the directory to list yourself, there are no PR's. Would you think this is useless? My opinion would be yes. I wrote several articles about 18 months ago and went from a small PR to a 4 within a short amount of time. I am in the process of writing more. I'm going to see if I can up my PR to 5. |

Re: Page Rank 3
I wrote an article explaining my thoughts on reciprocal linking not long ago...
But there's the gist of it... - Link is usually on a page with poor or no content - Links are normally considered poor quality because the content surrounding the link is unrelated - Content of linking page is almost always unrelated - Linking pages normally have dozens if not hundreds of external links - Link pages normally have low PR because of the number of outgoing links So basically, reciprocal links give you a tiny share of something that isn't worth much in the first place. Article submission on the other hand... - Link is on a page of quality content - Content is related to the link - Content of linking page is related to your website - Linking page with have a minimal amount of outgoing links, usually just yours. - Article pages can only improve their PRs because they get traffic, they get bookmarked and linked to by people (used as reference). So basically, you get a big share of something that's very valuable... I'm no genius but I know what I'd go for... PS.: Article submission put this page top on Google searches for 'seo expert london' within a week. The amazing thing is, I haven't even written anything on that page yet. It's empty!
