Back Links and PR
Hello
I am slowly getting to grips with SEO. When i check my page rank on some sites i am told that i need more back links. I have seen that i have about 70 links mainly from forums. What advise would you give to do the following:
Kind regards James |

Re: Back Links and PR
1)join forumz and post your URL on them.(better to just put your URL on the signature part in the forum)
2)Submit your site tsearch engine directories 3)get links to your site from other sites (also submit your site to http://www.pagerank10.co.uk/ they give you heaps of backlinks like a thousand or something and moderators please do not delete this or because it is from ages ago) |

Re: Back Links and PR
Just a note. Here at Webforumz we have a rel="no follow" added to links so google will not see your link unless you become a supermember. Then your links will show.

Re: Back Links and PR
Now now. I do believe that you pay $20 or something and that gives you the supermember status. You get a lovely shiny badge and as linda said the rel="no follow" will then be removed. Or you'll be put on an allow list. Or however it works. I keep meaning to do that myself.

Also, links from meaningless pages won't help. The validity of an incoming link depends on the text used, the context it's in (sorrounding text), the title and description of the page, the headings on the page, etc... This won't directly affect your PR, but it increases your exposure, which can eventually lead to more links, which can eventually increase your PR. Again, relevance is the essence of incoming links. Link text, surrounding text, page title, description, headings, keyword density, humber of links on the page, PR of the page, and so on... I'm sorry to keep referring to my own blog posts, but I recommend you read this before you get carried away 'link hunting'. Quote:
