Rel = "Nofollow", PageRank, and Gridview
Hello All,
Just today I found out about using the Rel = "Nofollow" attribute in a link tag to avoid losing pagerank through outbound links. My site is very outbound link intensive. For one thing, I'm posting a heck of alot of links to relevant external news stories. My problem is that I'm using gridviews to display all the data, and I'm seeing that it will not be simple to reset all my gridview link columns to add the rel attribute (maybe I'm wrong about this, I'm not a highly experienced ASP programmer). So, it looks like I'm stuck with alot of outbound links for Google to follow. My question is, how concerned should I be? It would be a major project to work out all the varied details of getting "nofollow" into all the appropriate link tags, so I'll do it if these links are going to destroy my chance to every build up pagerank, but if the effect is small or negligible, I would feel better about moving forward and continuing to add content. Any thoughts? http://www.americansolareconomy.com/ |

Re: Rel = "Nofollow", PageRank, and Gridview
If you are linking to relevant site then i don't think there would be any problem; but you should also concentrate on building inbound links so as to maintain PR.
Try to get more and more relevent backlink.... Some webmaster says that Google hates nofollow so try to avoid using it rather control your outgoing links. |

As andy says keep your links to things that are related to your site. Thats very important. Also be very sure that your link outwards is a good one. Don't link out to questionable sites. It will kill your serps.
