Microsoft Frontpage Help

Webpage layout is done. It includes generated vector graphics which were imported as JPEG, some digital camara photos imported as PNG. Everything looks exactly as I want it in Frontpage but everytime I publish it to the internet I only get those red "x"s were the graphics need to be. Are the pictures too large or am I doing something else wrong?

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Re: Microsoft Frontpage Help

That means it can;t find the pictures. Frontpage is probably linking to the file:// and not the http:// path of the images. or it isn't uploading the images at all which is entirely possible.

Two solutions:

1. Chuck Frontpage in the recycle bin

2. Get a better software package and check the image paths =)

Oh I should have read that more carefully. I thought he was saying that the HTML page was showing red X's. Duh, I would have thought red x's the one when you link to a file that isn’t there. Man, yep what moojoo said. That will do it!!

Re: Microsoft Frontpage Help

  1. group html page and images into one file.
  2. upload whole file.
  3. resize images before positioning them on your html page (you can resize them in html but your visitor still has to download the whole image file, at it's original size, which the browser will then re-interpret according to your html).

Re: Microsoft Frontpage Help

Click "start" and open Control Panel. Double click "Add/Remove Programs" highlight Microsoft FrontPage and click "remove" Click "next" until Uninstall is complete.

Right click on your html file and go Open with..-->Notepad.

That should set you on the right path... HAHAHA

Seriously though, it sounds like you've linked the images to versions on your local machine rather than their folder on the web server (their http: directory)
