Program for slicing?
Is there an Adobe Program in that suite package that you can use to slice a template? Ive never done anything but desgin temps, so I don't exactly even know how to slice. So if someone could also give me a link where I can get some helpful tips on slicing that would be cool.
Thanks! |

Re: Program for slicing?
Almost everyone here will tell you, Don't use the slicing options. Adobe Photoshop has a slicing feature built in, but it just isn't worth the trouble. I have found that it is better to just create a new document the size for the image I need, then take the template and paste it on there to get that portion for saving it to the web. While it is more work, I have had a lot more success with things "fitting together" than with the slice tool.

Re: Program for slicing?
Do you mean creating like a 100x100 dimension layer and just pasting you .png or whatever you have it as and then saving that small piece?

Re: Program for slicing?
Yeah, that is what I usually do. But you have to realize.. I don't do graphic heavy websites. If you see the sites I do, its mostly programming. So this may not be the method you prefer.
Another good way is to crop your .png file and saving that as another name. That works well too. I usually don't do that because I accidentally saved my original once and lost everything, thats why I stick with the create new blank document, copy, past, and save.

Re: Program for slicing?
Yeah as Justin stated above me, please don't use The slicing option in photoshop!
I usually, just crop the image I need, and then save that as seperate image, then undo that change and then the original psd file will appear again, but I really wouldn't use the slicing option. Cracka
