SMTP/ Email need help!
i run my own server, i installed apache/php/mysql and i write most of my own scripts and put them up on the server.
my biggest problem is that theres no good way to send emails from a home server like this. Sendmail isnt happy with php/apache and my 2 attempts at smtp have gotten me nowhere. Heres the best luck ive had so far: i settup a program called postsmtp and then attached my phpbb forums to it. when i send mail through the forums its registered by the program, but then the program cant find hotmail.com or whatever to send it to. I have both port 53 and 25 forwarded to the server, but still no luck. Does anyone have any experiance with smtp or sendmail from a home-server? I would love to get this working.
