PHP and Flash wont play nice.

Hello all,

I had a strange problem today when I change my pages from HTM to PHP.
On the index.php page, I have a little flash banner that rotates a few pics with a fade effect on the transition.
This was working fine as an HTM page but once I change it to PHP, the banner wont load. I'm super new to PHP but I'm sure I couldn't kill the banner with one include command!

The reason for the change is so that I can have the navigation and logo, at the top of the screen, included and save me having to change 10 pages for on link change.
The include is before (above) the banner and works fine, the flash refuses to play ball. On right clicking the area where the banner should be, I get a message saying "About Adobe Flash player 9..." and nothing else.

If I can't get this sorted out, I'll just forgo the effect and code a timer in JS.

The page is all validated 100% and I have tested it in IE7 win, Safari on mac and FF 2.0.0.14 Linux.

Not sure why it happened when switching from .html to .php, but I found your problem. If you go to http://lilianjanes.co.uk/flash/LJBanner.swf, the URL of the flash video, you get a 403 forbidden error. That would stop the browser from playing the flash video.

So get your permissions worked out for the /flash/ directory, that should fix it.

I had a feeling it would be something like that as the permissions for all my pics got screwed when I uploaded them. I t took me a good few hours finding that one out!
I'll go and fiddle with this right now (at 4:54am.. no wonder I get so many bugs lol) and post the result.

And then there was FLASH!

Without you pointing that out, I would have spent another 4 hours or more, deleting and re-uploading the same file.
Tried to CHMOD it to 745, 766, 666 with no joy, changed it to 777 and up come the banner...
