Backup phpbb forum?
Hi, I want to back up all my posts on my forum. http://bravo.messageboard.eu/32224/
I do not host the forum. It is a free hosted forum that was my only option at the time.
I now have hosting facilities for my new forum but I want to keep all my content/posts etc.
Unfortunatley there is not a backup option in the Admin panel
How can I back up the content then upload it to my new forum?
All help welcome

Re: Backup phpbb forum?
the only way to do it i suppose is to ask the person who is hosting it if you can have the mysql database file to your forum, they may charge for it though.
if you do get it
all you have to do is install your forum, then go to phpmyadmin and find the option that lets you install the data, then upload it

Re: Backup phpbb forum?
Hmm that does not sound to good for me.
The reason I want to get rid of my existing forum is the support is useless if existant.
I can always try to get the mysql database file but Idoubt I will suceed.
Is there no other way???

Re: Backup phpbb forum?
On your host can't you view PHPmyadmin? or anything similar?
Because alot of hosts allow you to see this, meaning you can export the data, and then import it when needed to your new host!
What host are you with?

Re: Backup phpbb forum?
Hi,
Sorry I must of misread your post, I didn't realise you was on a free host, otherwise I would never have suggested about the phpmyadmin bit.
As suggested above, I think it is best if you get hold of the company, and ask them to get it for you, it may come at a cost, but surely it is of use if you need the data?
