Re: How did you learn php?

Dreamweaver is not bad to get to grip with the concepts of web design, it was more jelousy of other people writing huge scripts that pushed me to get better 'Rakuli' was a good influence to me! Once you have written a full site using only text editors & fireworks\Photoshop & flash you will learn that dreamwever has very little value apart form over populating your web pages with stupid amounts of code! I also decided to use a controller to handle the views & layouts of my pages for more optimization, does anybody else find a controller more beneficial or is it just me being awkward

Dreamweaver's WYSIWYG is crap, but so is all the other WYSIWYG editors out there. I use dreamweaver myself, but not the WYSIWYG. I use it because of the A) Built in FTP, B) code highlighting, and C) the shortcuts to add code. (Adding images with just a few clicks is nice) But its started not working, so I'm looking into other PHP and HTML editors.

Re: How did you learn php?

Its each to there own i guess 'Cloudedvision dude'!!

I just feel the best way to remember somthink is to practise it, if u use to many shortcuts you will be suprised how easy it is to forget an important handy peace of code!

But good text editors like Jedit have a handy file broswer\FTP plugins & if u like short cuts-pleanty of abbreviations... The only thing i miss with dreamweaver is the funky colors used when writing Css!!

Get Jedit\Change the text background to black & use syntax highlighting with full anti alias text: Looks amazing on a LCD!!
