Connect to DVLA database?
Hi, Does anyone know how to connect to the DVLA database to check the details (make, model, engine etc) of a car using the registration? I know eBay and at least one other site do it (the other site is coded in PHP) Thanks

You'll probably have to set up some sort of contract around data, how and when it will be accessed and for what purpose. i.e. Not tracking down the guy who just cut me up on the motorway...
ebay do this through a third party (I believe), and I am pretty sure they pay a huge amount of money for the privilage - which is why they charge £5ish per access request / report.

It's probably covered by the data protection act, unless you have proper authorisation and have the necessary measures in place to prevent misuse and so on...
doubt that they will let ya access it
