addmodule in Apache

Hi, I'm just dipping my toe into this for the first time.

I've got a book which has walked me through installing Apache. I'm supposed to go to the section of the Apache configuration, and add the line

AddModule mod_php5.c

at the end of the AddModule section. However, in the version of Apache I have, there IS NO AddModule section...

I'm confused, and so is my computer.

Thanks for any help. I promise to ask more intelligent questions in a few months.

Meta-response:
Isca, I'm sorry I can't answer the question you asked. But you might want to consider whether you want LAMP onboard at all.

I started learning php/mysql without an onboard installation. I later added one, then I took it off due to OS conflicts. For me, the problems were more trouble than the value.

I just FTP my code to a webhost (FileZilla!) and view my results online. I think, overall, that it saves me time. But I don't work in a group environment, which might make a difference -- I just don't know. Also my cable connection is fast and reliable, which definitely makes a difference.

Re: addmodule in Apache

Thanks! I actually have some webspace, so unless some better solution comes along, I'll try the FTPing route.

Fingers crossed...
