Display image/chart depending on variables from a form.
Hello,
I've been asked to produce an interactive quiz on CD, which is split into three stages. Firstly, users will answer yes or no to a set of questions, then depending on their answers they will be directed to another set of multiple choice questions. Finally when they have answered these questions the results will be presented as a graphic/chart, and also available as text which can be copied into a word processing programme. I'm a web designer rather than developer so I'm a bit stuck for where to begin! I may end up outsourcing the development work but I'm not sure what kind of programming I would need to ask them to do at this stage. Would anybody be able to point me in the right direction or at least give me a starting point for how I might approach this project - whether it would be better to do it using javascript, Flash, PHP, etc?? Thanks in advance for any help. |

I think you would definitely need a server side solution such as ASP or PHP, however it would also be possible to do this in Flash.
It would not be an easy task though - It would be easier to outsource this than learn if you know very little. |

Hey, if you would like some help in the design of this, I'd glad to be of service, no charge, just recognition somewhere on it.
I can think of a few simple ways of doing it. If the ENTIRE thing has to be on CD, however and does not assume that that user has an internet connection, I won't be of much help. Otherwise, PM me. EDIT: Actually, come to think of it, I can think of a fairly simple way of doing it without needing a server side language such as php, thus enabling it to be done without an internet connection. Would the results need to be stored in a database somewhere where you could take a look at them? Or is it solely for customer interest? |

To be quiet honest, this would be far better done in VB or Delphi!
WHY does this need to be browser based?

More easily editable? I realize how pointless that is if it were to be on CD, but its nice have the option of editing the file quickly.
If for instance, only the compiled version was there for some reason, it would be damn near impossible to edit it. Long shot of an explanation, but there are reasons to use browser based. Not many, but there are a few. |
