Beginner Questions
Hi,
I am wanting to be able to create a site like the one in the following link:
http://www.poems-and-quotes.com
I understand they have a login feature and the ability for users to create profiles etc.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to build a site like this using logins etc. I have quite a bit of experience in photoshop and a little in dreamweaver.
I understand that databases of some form are involved where usernames and pw's are recorded and accessed.
Thank you for all replies

Re: Beginner Questions
Thank you very much. I have the basic template/layout for it created. I am wondering how to do the following too:
Be able to insert a form field into an image at a specific spot. I tried using a hotspot then insert text field into the hotspot in dreamweaver but it didnt work.

Re: Beginner Questions
Yeah, like stated above, you should learn CSS for the design. And for your log-in, you will need to learn some sever-side programming like PHP/Mysql

Re: Beginner Questions
Ill take a look at CSS, does CSS actually allow form fields to be built into images?

Re: Beginner Questions
You can try some open source system to do this. I think of xoops, joomla, mambo or other with a lot of modules. To use that you do not need to be programmer or look a friend with C#
Good luck

Re: Beginner Questions
If you create a database and input the connection info into Dreamweaver there are alot of tools in Dreamweaver that will create PHP forms and dynamic information that connects directly with your database. I used it when I first started to learn PHP/MySQL.
