Time to start a blog, but where?
I'm convinced it's worth having a as a web design (and updating it regularly) but where.? Opinions please on whether it's best within a blog network or as a seperate site I have total control over? Let's ignore the earning from a network site by Pay per Post, Selling or other for now.

Re: Time to start a blog, but where?
from a traffic = work = income point of view, blog within a network, such as wordpress or technorati or within my own website? Will I tend to get views easier within a network, but then does that lose me any credibility as an aspiring web designer?

Re: Time to start a blog, but where?
hi alexgeek - my google rank is only 2 so far, wouldn't I tend to get more accidental traffic say by using Wordpress because of the tags feature for example?

Re: Time to start a blog, but where?
You can implement wordpress on your own server and then blog away, with all of it's features.

Re: Time to start a blog, but where?
Cheers for that welshstew - haven`t got my own server yet, but maybe using another Mac later as I can see the benefits of having your own server having worked for one guys web site on a US server and experienced that annoying delay to check how things look from here.

Re: Time to start a blog, but where?
When you arrange for your hosting then make sure that you have the capacity to install a blog etc. A good hosting plan is available from site5 who give you unlimited domains and databases.
But there are planty of other good hosts out there as well.
