Implementation of search engine?

Hi,

I am a beginner at XHTML, but know the basics as thankfully its much easier than c++ which took many months to grasp, I am thinking of setting up a torrent search engine, but have no idea about implementing a search engine into a site, i know of many that have done it.

When i mean search i mean that it will search for the words you put in on other sites that host the torrent file

Thanks for the help.

Re: Implementation of search engine?

Are you using a database to store all your info?

It would be easy enough to use PHP or .NET (or whatever language you're using) to then display the search result based on the query.

Or you can use Google Custom Search Engine

Re: Implementation of search engine?

Although google search is easy to use i would prefer not to use it, an example site would be torrentz.com, as i said i am new to xhtml and no nothing except c++. So when search engines index pages, is it saved in there database? im confused even further

Re: Implementation of search engine?

So ... what are you creating your site with?! Just HTML?

I would suggest using a database and some server-side scripting or that site will become too big for nothing.

Re: Implementation of search engine?

by server side scripting you mean PHP?, that would be great as it is close to c++
