photo in flash
hi all...!!!
can anyone help .... i am creating a web porfolio for a photographer friend of mine...when i import the photos into flash cs3, i then try to rotate the image about 5 degrees clockwise, the image becomes pixelated and looks very poor..is there any way round this.... the problem is that the photos in raw format can be up to 400MB in size ...firstly i am exporting/compressing the images in photoshop cs3 to a more suitable size about 400kb and then importing to the stage if i dont rotate the photo the image is fine .. but my friend want the images to appear like a bunch of images slightly overlapping each other, as if a bunch of polaroids were dropped onto a coffe table in a random order also what is the best photoshop export extension to use... i know it a trade off between size and quality, but which offers the best ..ie tiff gif png etc..... cheers in advance people |

Re: photo in flash
As far as extensions go I've had best luck with png for flash. Your image quality settings may be set to low or medium (default by flash) you want to go into the publish settings and turn this up to high. I have Flash 8 not CS3 but this is one of the things people miss out on alot. If your previewing and your image looks pixelated make sure that when you export it you change the code in your XHTML to quality Best. This will make the image look great. If you drag and drop the Flash movie then it should defult to a decent dial up quality. So make sure you make it better.
If this is happening while editing in flash it may just be that the image you have is really being messed up , or it could be that your video card can't support the graphical change in the image. I would try and export it and view it from another pc just to make sure it isn't a hardware issue. However, if all else fails, make sure you saved the image in a high quality format. With CS3 you can actually save the .psd and then load it in Flash and it automatically understands the different layers. From what I have heard the quality from that is the best, so I'd definately give that a try.
