managing user accounts.

hi everyone. please forgive my newbieism. i am going to eventually hire someone to do alot of the website work for me, but i am in the planning stages. i plan on offering a service to the general public and i would like all my customers to be able to login with a username and password and be able to view their account, what they owe, previous invoices and other things. i will be setting up a server with a database and customers should be able to call up their related data. similar to paypal. i login and i can see my transaction history, pending transactions and stuff like that. i have searched online all day and all i could find was buisnesses offering to do all this for a percentage.

my question to you experts is... is there a software solution that i can pay for once and use forever that could handle a number of accounts, route customers to thier proper data via username/password, possibly invoice individual customers whenever required, allow new customers to sign up.

if someone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated. thanks

hmmm, sounds like you need to hire a PHP/MySQL programmer. I know a good one if you are interested, his name is Ben. He could easily develop this for you, and you would just pay for his service.

so i guess its safe to say there is no out of the ox solution? do you know of any software that simply silves the login portion of my problem/

yeah I can't say that I know of any. There are loads that do just the login portion but it would be better to let the programmer make one that fits into your design. I will send the info to you now via PM.

I agree Jacob. This kind of thing needs a PHP guru. If you've got the cash to hire someone, it's usually the best route.
