Advertising for Under 18s

Hi everyone,

I am looking to put ads on my site (similar to google adsense) however I am strugling to find a company that will allow me to participate as I am under 18. I have my own bank account in my name so I think it is really unfair that they will not allow me to publish their adverts, does anyone know of a site that does not employ such ridiculous requirements.

Re: Advertising for Under 18s

I think you may find it difficult as most companies seem to expect under 18's not to have a bank account with Direct Debit facilitys. I don't know anything about these types of things, but that seems like that maybe the most likely reason. If you emailed the company directly and asked them why these restrictions are in place, then if there is legislation in place stopping them offering this service to under 18's, it would save you the hassle of wasting any time hunting for something that may not exsist.

I was thinking of doing that, it brings complications however (eg. I would have to transfer the money from my parents account to mine as most of the companies want the policy holders name to be the payment name

Add your parents name to the account. Your parents name should already be on that account since your under 18. At least, thats whats it's like where I am.

Re: Advertising for Under 18s

Heres a possibility then.. Using the idea that MrMadison mentioned.

If you are 16 or over and your account doesnt have a Direct Debit function, goto your local branch of Nationwide and open a "Flex Account" they can accept Direct Debit and Bank Transfers. Then if you need to pay your parents a monthly amount, you ask them to setup a direct debit (so it pays your parents a monthly amount on a set date) or if your parents need to pay you money, they can just transfer it to your account. You can also access that account online through there website and assign it to a paypal account.

Hope this helps.
