Upload Files

How do you upload a file in Dreamweaver?.Say i want to add two images to the site and do not want to upload the whole site which can be very slow on a dial up connection.I have uploaded the whole site a few times with no problem but i was wondering can i upload just the files i want without uploading the whole site.
Thanks

Re: Upload Files

No you can't upload just the two files but you can upload just the page you worked on.

Re: Upload Files

Thanks for your reply.Does that mean that if i have a thumbnail image and i have it linked to a larger image on a different page that it is just a matter of uploading the two pages

Re: Upload Files

That's a really good question. If the larger image is in the same folder on your harddrive as the page it will upload. If the larger image is in it's own folder such as "large-images", then you will have to upload the large photo or large -images folder.

Re: Upload Files

I suggest you to use the free tool "FlashFXP".It transmits files quite fast!

Re: Upload Files

You can upload just two images though dreamwever Lchad...lol, it is done though the FTP panel in dreamwever 8. I must say I personally like SmartFTP, but it is up to you.

Re: Upload Files

I don't remember exactly how though...as I only messed with dreamwever when I was taking a class at school...I perfer to hand code myself...but I know it is possible I did it using the FTP manager in dreamwever...I might open the program if the person wants to know how still...lol

Re: Upload Files

In the local folder, you just have to hold down the control key and select the two photos needing to be uploaded. Then press the UP arrow to upload!
Easy as pie! There Jacob.. saved you the hassle!!

Re: Upload Files

Hi guys,
My friend and i are having problems. We are both newbies and she added photos to her website wich is keenoncards.com.When you are on the home page and click congratulations and then click on a thumbnail the flash is not working on the displayed page plus two of the thumbnails are not working even though they work when you press F12 but the flash is not working. The flash does not work on the other images either. I hope i am not posting in the wrong section as i am a newbie and maybe it is a flash problem and ifi i am i sincerely apologise.I find this forum so helpful and i thank everyone for there answers
