how do i add

hi guys can any one help with advice on how i add such things like membership options to my web page. I brought a template and have worked with it quite well but i would like to now know how people can enter data into my site, and also how it would link then to another programme.

i know there are proberbly very technical terms for what i am talking about, but any help would be greatly recieved

PHP and MySQL are what you need. Try looking at http://hotscripts.com/ for something that suits your needs.

hi many thanks for that, but just one more thing - what exactly do i do with the codes, i have found a page that will help me add a downloads page to my site but now how do i link this into my index? so sorry to sound dumb -

well what you do if you want it as a link it would be this

<a href="yourdomain.com/file.php">Download section</a>

right so you would change the writing in red to suit your hosting for example if the download script was located on my hosting it would be

www.3d-modelling-art-online.com/download.php or what ever the file.php name is

how does these php work actually? is the html coding same for these pages?

right the code i gave you takes them to a download section to your site, you need to name the filles with extension .php for it to work and at top of the editor youy put <?php i believe so it recognises the file is php and at the end of the code "bottom" you put ?> so it ends the php i not very good with php i dotn know it that well i know little and i mean little lol so if that doesnt help maybe you need to wait for ryan or some1 to reply cause this is there language lol
