Images onto my homepage

Absolutely new to writing HTML (2 weeks). I'm currently messing about with creating my own practice website and would like some ideas on how best to create a heading to my homepage that looks a bit more exciting than just text. I have no understanding of CSS or JS yet, so please take it easy on me.

If you could include a couple of examples of HTML, that would be really helpful

You could change the background color or something.
