Website Ftp Transfer Help

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone who knows a bit about websites can help me. I recently built a web site for my internet radio station on Cananovas free site builder. I then choose to buy a .co.uk address to put it on. The server company transfered the pages accross, but when I need to make changes to the site on Cabanovas builder, I am unsure how to do it. I did notice that when saving my pages, its says I can FTP it to another site, that being my .co.uk site, but have tried this several times, but are unsure where on my .co.uk site, the settings are. I am very new to this website building stuff, and would appreciate any help given. If you need any more inforamtion, just drop me a line.

Thanks

Russell Falls

Hi! If I understand correctly, the program that you are using to create your website is an online program? If so, could you please post the link of that company so I can see what you mean? Also, is Cananovas still hosting your site now? Forgive my ignorance as I am also fairly new, but I will try to help you out as best as I can. If not, someone else will surely be able to!

Well, I'm not quite sure how to solve your problem, but I did go to their site, and if you click on Support in the main menu and type in ftp, it gives you lots of information about how ftp works with them. Maybe this would help solve your problem?

Re: Website Ftp Transfer Help

Hi again, thanks for looking at the support pages, alot of the info on there is what I allready know. After having a think about it, maybe I wasnt clear originally, on my .co.uk servers site, there is a FTP bit on there, and it shows the files that I uploaded from Cabanova, but I dont know how to publish them onto the web pages, I can give you my servers details, if you want a look at the FTP pages...as they dont make any sense to me!!

Thanks

Russell

I guess I'm in a little over my head... I though I could help, but I don't want to lead you in the wrong direction. I'm sure someone who actually knows what they're doing will answer this soon though. Good Luck!

Re: Website Ftp Transfer Help

Okay, you should just be able to plug in your FTP information...like username, password, FTP server/domain, and port number...normally 21. If you want, I would be glad to take a look for you.
