MySQL download trouble
Hello
I have been trying to download MySql for the last week and have been unsuccessful! What am I doing wrong. I am creating a database for home use and this is my first time working with MySQL as I have heard it is compatible with PHP as I am trying to teach myself how to develop a database that will be accessible on the web. Can you please help me. I wish to download MySQL for windows XP. I have tried to download MySQL from the mysql website but I'm having no luck whatsoever as each time it just bombs out and the 'page cannot be displayed' message comes up! Am I doing something wrong or do I have to purchase MySQL???? Please help me Patsy

mysql is open source so there is no cost. I don't know what the problem could be. What is your connection?

You need to find "how to" instructions -- use Google. You're going to want a package including probably Apache.

If you do want a package, I would suggest Xampp. Apache, PHP, SQL,Filezilla. Easy to install and great for testing your site locally.

I have been using http://appservnetwork.com/ for a while now and so far (fingers crossed) I have had no problems.

Hi all,
Thanks for your replies but over the weekend I found phpdev; a site that allows me to download Php, Apache and MySQL all in one so I'm working with that now and hopefully will get it configured to begin my development. Thanks very much for your help (all of you that replied)
