Submitting Web form results to a database

I apolagize if this question has been asked already and has been answered as well. I have created a survey for my company and am trying to have it connected to a database. I've made sure that my webhosting server has frontpage extensions on it. From what I've read frontpage is the way to have a web form send results to a database. When I go to from properties the option for "send to database" is inactive or greyed out. I have no clue what to do now. Please help! Thank you in advance.

To be honest Frontpage extensions is more than likely not installed on your server and is not a very safe way to send forms to a database. You can do this by using either ASP (Windows server) or PHP (Linux Server) and you still have to use SQL to open the database.

We will need to know what kind of database you have set up, MYsql, Access, MSSQL (May be wrong on that name), or another (if I missed one...).

After we have this information one of our members might be able to give you some code to help you out or even do it for you if they are having a good day, haha. !Important! DO NOT post the actual name of your database! Just call it database .

Frontpage problems

The problem is i am a newbie to this whole thing. I have not setup any database and was under the impression that frontpage sets one up for you when you choose the "send to database" option. But if I were to setup a database it would be in excel. And btw I have no clue what .Asp or .Php or Sql are, like i said am a newbie.

Thank you for all your help.
